Brooklyn Multi-Service Community Center, Corp. is a non-profit organization that
works in partnership with local community leaders, businesses, government
agencies, academic and research institutions, non-profit organizations, and
individuals to achieve innovative sustainable solutions.
MISSION STATEMENT:
Brooklyn Multi-Service Community Center, Corp. (BkMSCC), mission is to
provide services and education to those of the community, while installing
morals, creating better community members, and bridging the generation gap.
Using our knowledge and resources we will help and enhance the community
through creative, upbeat, and unique programs, events, and workshops. We will
allow for partnerships and collaborations with local government, individuals, and
organizations. We will build a collective sustainable community.

Interns must be enrolled in a high school, YAIP (paid) or college program. They

ABOUT
Great opportunity for a creative, ambitious college student or recent graduate
looking to gain professional experience in all aspects of the event planning
industry. Must be personable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-
paced work environment.
STATUS
Hours are flexible, but we prefer to set a definitive schedule with a minimum
commitment of 15-20 hours per week.

Event Coordinator and or Board
ACADEMIC CREDIT
If intern wishes to receive academic credit for the internship, it will be the intern’s
responsibility to make arrangements with his or her school. BkMSCC will provide
the necessary job description and performance review upon request.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Intern serves as a key member of the Brooklyn Multi-Service Community
Center, Corp. (BkMSCC) team. Upon completion of the internship, candidates
leave with a foundation of knowledge for producing successful events and ideally
have the tools with which to tackle producing an event of their own.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Assist in all aspects of event coordination including planning, design,
marketing, fundraising, and sponsorship
Perform responsibilities as assigned at BkMSCC events (some evenings
and weekends necessary)
Meeting preparation: scheduling and coordination of appropriate materials
for client and new business meetings
Research new event spaces, restaurants, and resources related to our
industry
Office reception: answering phones, receiving deliveries, ordering supplies
Mailings and list management: compiling and updating mailing lists,
tracking RSVPs for events, and coordinating large mailings
Being creative, collaborative, and having fun!
Qualifications:
Good writing and communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Internet research
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends

SPONSORSHIP LIAISON INTERN
STATUS
Intern, Part-time: 12-16 hours per week. Time commitment may vary according to

Interns will work under the direction of the Development & Marketing Associate in
sponsorship relations and development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Researching leads for potential sponsor and partner organizations
Updating and maintaining sponsor profile database
Developing letters, fact sheets, and other informational materials about
BkMSCC for potential sponsors
Assisting the Development & Marketing Associate, Finance & Human
Resource Associate, Board of Directors, and other interns accomplish
tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS

Community Programs Intern
BkMSCC is seeking motivated educators, humanitarians, and those who want to
help other. Those dedicated, ambitious, and committed to student success and
education reform. Qualified candidates must demonstrate records of

whatever it takes to ensure that every child achieves academic success. This
individual must be committed to excellence, led by example, and see
collaboration as a key component of success.
Position Description
You are the backbone of Brooklyn Multi-Service Community Center, Corp. You
will help perfect our programs. This position is ideal for candidates that wish to
fully pursue a credentialed lead teaching position, activism, and other community
based programs. Becoming an educational associate serves as an internship for
candidates who wish to develop their expertise through observation and
experience in preparation for a meaningful and successful teaching career.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Applicants must possess strong communication and administrative skills; an
understanding of arts education; the capacity to multi-task and to work
independently; along with the ability to problem solve. Ideal candidates must also
have a strong knowledge of photography—its history, techniques, and aesthetics.
A familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Photoshop are
required. Must have excellent customer service skills and thrive in a high-energy,
fast-paced environment.

Research and Development Intern
STATUS
A firm commitment of 20 to 30 hours per week is required. The internship will
start at a mutually agreed upon date and may continue through the academic
year depending on mutual interest and satisfactory performance.
Position Description
Brooklyn Multi-Service Community Center, Corp. is seeking a current college
student, current graduate student, or recent college graduate who is interested in
serving as an intern and providing a wide range of database, research,
administrative, and general support to BkMSCC’s development team. In return,
BkMSCC will provide an opportunity for the intern to gain experience in and
familiarity with areas such as fundraising, philanthropy, international
development, children’s issues, and the day-to- day operations of a nonprofit
organization.
The Development Intern will report to the Development Associate and the
Database and Research Manager, and will support the entire development team.
Specific Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist the development staff in entering data into The BkMSCC’s donor
database.
• Conduct research on potential donors, strategic partners, markets, and
industries.
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external use.
• Draft correspondence, reports, proposals, and donor appeals.
• Assist the development staff in planning donor events and other activities.
• Maintain donor files and other development materials.
• Attend department and staff meetings
• Assist with mailings, filing, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
• Strong writing and research abilities.
• Desire to learn more about fundraising and philanthropy.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with databases is a plus.

VOLUNTEERS:
We accept volunteers of all ages, if you are under 13 a parent or guardian must
accompany you. If you are in a HRA program, please specify. We are willing to
fill out any paperwork, it is your responsibility to communicate with your program.
They are accepted on an ongoing basis; it will usually last 3-4 months. For ages
14-24, it may be a paid as a youth worker/intern.

Office assistants will work alongside BkMSCC staff members to help manage
office tasks and materials. Specific duties MAY include, but are not limited to:

having leadership experience, and can work with minimal supervision, becoming
an executive on our Friends Group Board will be excellent for you. We will be the
backbone of Saratoga Branch Library; position will last at least 1 year.
STATUS
Executives will work sporadically; a lot of work will be from home or via virtual
teams. You must come to mandatory meeting, at least 6 per year.
Position Description: Board needed includes: vice president, treasurer and
secretary.

Position Description:
Instructors are creative, crafty, or have a specific niche. They will work alongside
BkMSCC staff members to help create tasks, request inventory, and assist in
programing. Class sizes vary, with a minimum enrollment of 8 to 10 students
preferred, and generally a maximum of 20 students (approximately a 10-1
student to teacher ratio maintained).
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Participate in instructor meetings and training sessions.
Work closely with the Youth Programs assistant director to understand the
process of program planning.
Develop an itinerary/ lesson plan that involves hands-on/minds- on
learning.
Instruct session in a student-centered environment while ensuring
participant safety and well-being.
Submit all paperwork in a timely fashion (itinerary, budget, supply
requests, and incident/injury reports).
Read, review, and follow guidelines outlined in the Instructor Handbook.
Enjoy working with students of ALL ages who are excited and interested in
learning.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a
manner that is successful in getting along with students, staff, partnering
organizations, parents, and the public.
